Parking Deck III
Parking Deck III is a five-level, 2,650 space parking structure being built on where Lot F used to be on the northeast part of campus, extending west into portions of Lot G. Originally the project was a 1,650 space structure, but authorization was granted to build Phase II of the deck now adding approximately 1,000 spaces. Phase II was originally not scheduled to happen for several years. As part of the deck project is the new Patriot Circle Spur Rd that opened in March 2008 and a two-story, 15,000 sq. ft Campus Public Safety Building that will be the home of the Mason Police and Safety Offices. Also, Patriot Circle between Lots E and G that is currently closed will be re-built to the north of it's former location and will provide access to the southern face of the deck. As well, Rappahannock Ln. that closed in early 2008 will be re-built to the west of the completed parking deck.
Parking Deck III has an overall budget of almost $42 million and will be ready to open by Fall 2009. The deck will provide parking for visitors, general lot permits, and will have reserved levels for faculty/staff, resident students, and resident or commuter students.
