February 2013 Event and Construction Traffic Update

Traffic is heaviest starting 90 minutes prior to an event and immediately following the event’s end. Traffic will often impact Mason Shuttles schedules. Make sure to allow extra time commuting to the Fairfax Campus on these evenings.
For parking, it is highly encouraged to avoid the General permit surface lots around the Patriot Center (Lots A,C,J,K, & L) on event nights and use the Rappahannock River Parking Deck or Lot H (open to General parking permits after 5pm). For these events, reserved surface Lot R and the Shenandoah Parking Deck reserved parking permit levels will be open to a limited number of parkers. The reserved parking permit levels of the Rappahannock River Parking Deck may be opened if needed. Parking Services controls how many vehicles are allowed into the reserved areas to ensure space for reserved permit holders.
