To all Mason Faculty and Staff,

Spring Parking Permits
Parking permits for the Spring 2010 semester are now available for purchase online at parking.gmu.edu.  We still have a very limited number of Sandy Creek and Mason Pond deck permits available and we continue to offer the Rappahannock River reserved parking permits at a discounted rate for the remainder of the academic year (see below for further information*).  All parking deck permit purchases, as well as signing up for or switching over to, a payroll deduction permit must be handled at the Parking Services office on the Fairfax Campus next to the Sandy Creek Parking Deck.  General/surface lot payroll deduction permits valid for both the Fairfax and Prince William campuses can also be obtained at the Parking Services office at the Prince William campus located on the 1st floor of the Occoquan Building.  Faculty and Staff located on the Arlington campus can obtain their permits in the Parking Services Office located on the bottom floor of the Original Building across the hall from the Book Store.

Lot G Closing
Just as reminder, Lot G closed on December 11, 2009 at 11 p.m., so construction on the new Administration Building (University Hall) can begin.

Faculty and Staff general (surface) lot parkers will still have dedicated parking areas between 7:00am – 5:00pm on Monday through Friday in the following areas:

Faculty/Staff parking permits are also valid in all of the general (surface) lots on campus, as well as the general permit parking area in the Rappahannock River Parking Deck (all of level 2, and the ¾ of level 1 not designated as visitor parking).

*Reduced Rate Rappahannock River Parking Deck Permits
As a result of the closing of Lot G, the price of the reserved Rappahannock River Parking Deck faculty/staff permits will be dropped to $180 for the Spring semester ($55 below normal semester deck rates).  If you wish to upgrade your annual faculty/staff general/surface lot parking permit to a Rappahannock River reserved permit, the upgrade is only $55.  Please stop by the Parking Services Office on the Fairfax campus next to the Sandy Creek Parking Deck to process your upgrade.  Please make sure to bring your current permit with you.  If you have a payroll deduction permit for general (surface) lots now, we will exchange it for a payroll deduction reserved permit for the Rappahannock River Parking Deck. The Parking Services office on the Fairfax Campus is normally open Monday through Thursday from 8:30am – 7:00pm, and from 8:30am – 5:00pm on Friday.  The Parking Services office on the Fairfax Campus will be open from 8:30am – 5:00pm from December 14th through December 22, 2009 and open until 12 noon on December 23, 2009.  The Parking Services office will reopen on January 4, 2010 open from 8:30AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday.  Effective January 11, 2010 the Parking Services office will be open normal hours.

If you decide to take advantage of the reserved permit for the Rappahannock River Parking Deck, or upgrade to any of our parking decks, there is a $25 refundable deposit that is required for the access device that will allow you to enter/exit your reserved area of the Rappahannock River Parking Deck (level 3).  The $25 refundable deposit for the access device must be paid in person at the Fairfax Campus Parking Services office when picking up the access device.
