Lot I Reserved Parking Permit Holders,

Parking Services has been informed by Facilities Management that Lot I will need to close permanently on Friday March 19, 2010 for the construction of the 600-bed Housing VIIIA project. The closing is earlier than had been anticipated at the beginning of the 2010 academic year but is required in order for the project to meet certain deadlines.

Effective immediately, you have two choices:

1) Exchange your Lot I permit for a Reserved Rappahannock River parking deck permit at no cost which will provide you with reserved parking on Levels 4 and 5.  You will be provided with an access device to enter and exit this gated area.  There will not be any additional fees for this upgrade.  You can accomplish this exchange and secure your access device at the Parking Services office on the Fairfax campus.

2) Exchange your Lot I permit for a general lot permit and receive a $115 refund-this is the amount you paid above the general lot permit price.

We apologize for any inconvenience associated with the closure of Lot I and look forward to continuing to provide you with reserved parking in the Rappahannock River parking deck. Please email us at parking@gmu.edu if you have any questions.

Thank you.
