Rappahannock River Parking Deck Opens Monday, August 24, 2009 and Reserved Deck Permits Are Still Available

Starting at approximately 7 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, the Rappahannock River Parking Deck will officially be open for use by all faculty, staff and students. While there is parking for general lot and faculty/staff permits on Levels 1-2 and one bay of parking just for faculty/staff surface lot permits on Level 3 which is first-come first-serve, there are still reserved deck permits available for faculty/staff and students where you can guarantee yourself a space.

The reserved deck permits are sold in limited quantity and are $450 annually. If eligible for payroll deduction, an employee can sign up for a payroll deduction deck permit at the Parking Services office-cost on payroll deduction is $18.75 each pay period based on 24 pay periods. An annual reserved deck permit (or for any other type permit available) pay be purchased online at parking.gmu.edu and then picked up in the Parking Services office or can be purchased in-person in the Parking Services office between August 24-26 or in the SUB II ballroom from August 27-September 4(closed Sunday). Check the parking website for sales hours.

Faculty/staff reserved deck permits are only valid on Level 3 inside the Rappahannock River deck, but are also valid in all faculty/staff and general student parking lots. Reserved student permits are only valid on levels 4-5 inside the Rappahannock River Deck, but are also valid in all general student lots. A reserved deck permit requires the use of an access card which requires a $25 refundable deposit.
