To all George Mason University students:

George Mason will be opening up the new Rappahannock River Parking Deck (Deck 3) in August of this year.  The new parking deck is located on University Drive, adjacent to the new Northeast Sector Housing, on the site where Lot F used to be right next to the water tower.

There will be an open lottery to any student that wishes to try and receive a permit for one of the reserved levels in the new parking deck.  Starting May 5th at 9 a.m., follow the linkhttps://parkingsvc.gmu.edu/rappaha_LotDeck2009.asp if you are interested in trying to obtain a Rappahannock River reserved permit valid on Levels 4 & 5 only)for the fall semester.  We will be notifying those eligible to purchase a Rappahannock River reserved permit by e-mail, so please check your Mason e-mail account regularly.

Rappahannock River Parking Deck is a 2650 space, 5 level parking garage.  Deck 3 will accommodate:

        • Visitor parking
        • General student parking
        • General faculty/staff parking
        • Reserved faculty/staff parking
        • Reserved commuter and resident student parking.

Half of the first level will have pay-by-space visitor parking, and the other half, as well as the entire 2nd floor will be for general parkers (student and faculty/staff permits), just like lots A, C, J, K, L, M, O and P.  The ramp up to the 3rd floor will be faculty/staff spaces only, much the same as lots G and H.  There is no overnight parking in Rappahannock River for regular student or faculty/staff permits.

The remainder of the 3rd floor will be reserved for faculty/staff Rappahannock River deck permits only and will be controlled by gate access.  Levels 4 and 5 will be the reserved parking for commuter and resident students and will also be controlled by gate access.

All reserved parking in the Rappahannock River Parking Deck will have the same pricing structure as the Sandy Creek Parking Deck: $450/annual.

Information about online parking permit sales for all other type permits will be posted on the parking website later in May. Please check back there for more information, including specific sales dates.  For  information on the 2009-2010 parking permit pricing please check here:  http://parking.gmu.edu/Rate2009-2010.html
