Appeals
Parking citations may be appealed in accordance
with the University's Administrative Policy No. 1108, and the associated
set of Procedures which govern motor vehicle policies and regulations.
APPEALS MUST BE MADE WITHIN TEN (10) CALENDAR DAYS OF THE ISSUE DATE.
All faculty, staff, student, and visitor appeals will be considered by
an Appeals Hearing Officer who may uphold or deny the appeal or reduce
the regulation violated to a lesser offense.
Written Appeal Procedures:
Appeal forms are available from the Office of Parking Services. Both sides
of the appeal form must be completed and the agreement section signed
before the form will be processed. The citation should be attached to
the appeal form and returned in person or by mail to the Parking Services
Office located next to the Sandy Creek Parking Deck.
The results of the appeal will be reported to the appellant by U.S. Mail.
Payments of fines on appealed citations are due within ten calendar days
of the decision date. The Appeals Hearing Officer serves the Judicial
and Advisory Board and the Student Parking and Appeals Board for the GMU
Office of Parking & Transportationand is not affiliated with the Office
of Parking Services.
