Parking & Transportation is self-supporting and includes a variety of services that support parking and transit on all of Mason’s campuses. The Transportation Office provides administrative oversight of the parking operation and acts as liaison with the City of Fairfax related to the CUE Bus and other transportation items. The department serves as the university’s representative to the multiple jurisdictions that Mason campuses and locations reside in and provides strategic direction regarding parking and transportation decisions to the campus. It oversees the transportation demand management program, including bicycle and ride-sharing, Commonwealth Commuter Choice, and more.
The Transportation Office has developed a long-range Parking Services and Transportation Master Plan to address future needs and provide a vision for future growth in this area. Campus Access funds—generated primarily from permit fees, visitor and event revenues, and fines—cover parking lot and deck construction debt service, lot repairs and maintenance, lighting repairs and installations, and the operations and management fee for the parking contractor. Please contact the Parking and Transportation offices listed below or submit an online inquiry form if you have any questions.
